The deadline to apply has passed. Selected participants will be notified by mid-December. 


As a participant in the program, you will:

  • work with local women leaders to gather data on gender leadership gaps from companies in the Kansas/Missouri area
  • present your findings to KU students, administrators, and business leaders at a community event next spring
  • learn about local career opportunities and ways to contribute to your field
  • establish lifelong mentoring connections with women in the sciences
  • participate in specialized leadership training relevant to being a woman leader in the sciences
  • one of our twenty student participants will be chosen for a paid trip to attend the AAUW National Conference for College Women Student Leaders (May 31-June 3)

Time commitment: approximately 1 hour a week from late January to early April, plus attendance and a research presentation at a final event in late April
